What is remapping?

A vehicle remap replaces default software on the ECU (engine control unit), overwriting it with new software which can be programmed to optimize the vehicles overall performance. This is known as vehicle remapping because the ECU is essentially a program that controls how the engine works. When your vehicle is remapped, the tuned software overwrites the engine map with the new version to enhance engine performance.

Why don't manufacturers map vehicles to their full potential?

Most modern vehicles contain an ECU that is effectively a small computer which controls how the engine works. Vehicle manufacturers de-tune the engine by setting the software on the ECU to default before sending the vehicle out.
This is done due to the manufacturers having to sell their cars all over the world, this means that the software settings on the ECU must take into account different climates, laws & restrictions and varying quality of fuels.

AdBlue is used in a process called selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to reduce emissions of nitrogen from the exhaust of diesel engines but it has been known to produce very high operating costs and extremely expensive to repair.

EGR delete

Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) is a nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions reduction technique used in petrol and diesel engines.

EGR works by recirculating a portion of an engine’s exhaust gas back to the engine cylinders. This dilutes the O2 within the incoming air stream and provides gases, inert to combustion, to act as absorbents of combustion heat in order to reduce peak in-cylinder temperatures. NOx is produced in a narrow band of high cylinder temperatures and pressures.

However, the valves can become clogged with carbon deposits, causing them to fail or stick, thereby causing error codes and the vehicle to not run correctly. DNM Auto Locksmith solution is a simple and effective method of improving the efficiency. Using DNM Auto Locksmith software will disable the EGR valve, resulting in lowered engine temperatures, improved throttle response and better fuel economy. It can also increase engine life by reducing oil contamination and carbon deposits.

DPF delete

To remove the DPF (diesel particulate filter), DNM Auto Locksmith will need to read the original software from your vehicle’s ECU.

DNM Auto Locksmith can then programme the software to the ECU to remove the DPF from the system.

Once this process has been undertaken the vehicle will no longer attempt regenerations, and DPF check light or engine management light will not be illuminated due to DPF issues.

Stage 1 remap

This is for standard (unmodified) vehicles. This level of tuning gives your vehicle more performance and often far better fuel economy, dependent on driving style.
